DRIC Project - Windsor Essex Parkway
The DRIC project (Detroit River International Committee) has been busy during the last 4 years aquiring the needed properties along the projected new highway and border crossing route. To date they have successfully negotiated with 93 of the 139 projected property owners. I believe that all 93 property owners have been very happy with their compensation packages. This was one of my concerns 4 years ago in that everyone would be treated fairly in compensation and I now feel confident that all will be compensated adequately. I don't know how many property owners have relocated in LaSalle but I encourage all of them to do so.

2010 LaSalle Election
This election will consist of a few changes. First of all you will be able to vote by mail. Everyone will receive their ballot in the mail in late September or early October. You will have time to decide your selections and submit also by prepaid mail. You can also drop it off at the Town Hall on Election Day. Make sure you mail early to allow the mail system to return your ballot on time.
All positions have more than 1 individual running so there will be no acclamation of any positions. This makes for a healthier election as people should have a choice and yes everone should vote.
Election will take place on October 25th, 2010
For a list of Candidates go to the town website at @ http://town.lasalle.on.ca

Laurier Parkway Construction
If you get the opportunity take a ride and get a feeling and a view of where the new Laurier Parkway road will intersect Disputed Road and Huron Line and come out onto Howard Ave. It will be a great connection for anyone needing to get to the 401 for travelling. It will be a great alternative for just getting to work for some and also simplify directions for out of town people to find LaSalle.
Colonel Bishop Park Begins
LaSalle has began building the much anticipated Colonel Bishop Park on the old site of the former school of the same name. The playground has been installed already as one of the first items. Path ways and picnic areas will follow. There will be some other sorts of amenities to follow and a number of trees will complete the park setting . I know many of you have been waiting for this park to be completed for some time. I hope it meets everyone's expectations.

Riverdance project under way
A lot of activity on the weekend as many loads of top soil were hauled into the project. It will be levelled out as part of the landscape that will eventually be a major part of the first phase project. It will be a passive park area that will be adjacent to the building that will begin construction shortly to the south and house the University of Windsor fish research lab. More details will follow.
Declared my Candidacy for LaSalle Council for 2010
Today on the first day of Summer I have filed my papers to seek re-election to LaSalle council. I will be seeking your support for the next 4 years on October 25th. A great deal of accomplishments have taken place during the last 4 years and we will continue in the same way during the next term.
